Overview
This senior advisor, Health & Wellness role will work remotely across the United States, with hybrid onsite presence for candidates within commuting distance of the Florida headquarters.
Responsibilities- Analyze aggregate health and welfare plan data to inform recommendations related to trends and plan design changes.
- Serve as the central point of contact for escalations related to associate insurance issues with carriers.
- Act as the primary subject‑matter expert on benefit compliance topics including HIPAA, ACA reporting, and Form 5500.
- Serve as a contact for internal customers, insurance vendors, and third‑party administrators.
- Review documents and benefit changes to ensure alignment with IRS compliance guidelines.
- Investigate and resolve moderate to complex associate complaints, concerns regarding benefit programs and leave of absence.
- Communicate and ensure understanding of IRS regulations, Family Medical Leave, Health Savings Account regulations, and Health Care Reform questions to managers, associates, and potential candidates.
- Manage communication and resolution between associates and benefit plan vendors on unique issues such as eligibility, claims, and plan provision adherence.
- Administer LOA compliance and serve as liaison between vendor, associates, managers, and HR COEs.
- Manage associate transition from leave of absence to potential job accommodation or long‑term disability status.
- Investigate, audit, and resolve differences with associate vacation and sick accrual accounts.
- Process HRMS data for vacation/sick entitlements, enrollment changes, leave of absences, payroll deductions, and audits.
- Participate in the RFP process and assist with managing vendor benefit plan implementations.
- Oversee all compliance issues, audits, and payments to applicable state programs.
- Manage the open enrollment process for associates on leave of absence.
- Audit open enrollment data files and carrier exception reports to correct data errors.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements and state & federal regulations that impact benefit administration and ensure compliance.
- Review documents for family status changes and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to internal customers.
- Manage and increase utilization of onsite health clinic.
- Coordinate new hire benefit enrollment process.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven ability to organize, analyze, and utilize complex health care/vendor data to inform recommendations.
- Advanced knowledge of benefit‑related laws including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and IRS requirements.
- Record of taking on new or additional responsibilities and assisting the team in completing work.
- Knowledge of federal and state legislation including Family Medical Leave, state‑specific paid leaves, and Health Care Reform.
- Advanced HRMS system processing and report analysis skills.
- Experience with various health and wellness plan designs and annual enrollment.
- Strong skills in investigating discrepancies, gathering data, processing billings, and preparing payment approvals.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to internal customers.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and use software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases.
- HRMS processing, audits, and queries (strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of ERISA plans (preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; intermediate Excel skills also preferred.
- Report‑writing skills, including People Soft Query, People Tools, and SQL (strongly preferred).
- HIPAA certification or completed compliance training.
- Ability to partner with other functional areas and senior leaders to accomplish objectives.
- Interpret and apply state and federal regulations to complex benefit and leave issues.
- Read, interpret, analyze, and apply information from insurance materials and service agreement contracts.
- Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
