Alternative Data Scientist​/Analyst - Champaign, IL - TC

Do you want to get your foot in the door at a Hedge Fund?

You`ll be working for a Software consultancy, engaged to build software for a global Hedge Fund - including the front office trading teams.

They’re looking for an economist, data scientist, or economic statistician to work alongside best-in-class economic researchers in a highly intellectual, fast-moving setting. The role sits close to live market decisions, with access to large-scale alternative datasets, modern analytical tooling, and the mandate to turn complex data into actionable economic insight.

• Deep analysis of large, complex, and alternative datasets to identify real-time economic trends
• Building and refining market-relevant indicators, including new measures of inflation, consumption, and activity
• Applying econometrics, statistics, and frontier techniques (including ML/AI where appropriate) to extract signal from noisy data
• Partnering closely with economists to inform macroeconomic views and forecasts
• Creating clear, insightful visualizations and outputs for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Helping build low-latency infrastructure to communicate updated analysis to stakeholders
