Job Responsibilities
  • User Requirements: Gather, prepare and analyze user requirements to create complex reports and simple to moderate dashboards, utilizing enterprise data systems (such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle & Clarity, SAP/Crystal, Business Objects, etc.). Participate in technical code reviews, including reviewing simple code of others. Perform change management when reporting system modifications are needed. Follow build, configuration and release management processes and meet user and technical documentation standards as set by CCHMC.

    Translate business user questions into data solutions. Utilize and contribute to the CCHMC information glossary to refer to governed definitions when analyzing and creating reports.
  • Training: Provide end user training as required for new hires or when changes are made to existing applications/systems. Create educational materials for end user training, adoption & activation including, but not limited to job aides, lesson plans & quick start guides. Provide ad hoc analysis for hospital departments and divisions accurately and in a timely manner, including assistance with understanding the data and potential gaps.
  • Technical Skill: Continually develop professional skills. Maintain Epic certifications where appropriate. Expand oral and written communication skills, particularly related to translating customer requirements into BI solutions. Plan and execute testing plans.
  • Project Management: Timely completion of assigned tasks. Accurate & timely communication of status. Effective time management and prioritization of assigned tasks. Assist with setting task priorities and timelines. Responsible for identification of issues with potential solutions. Serve as project manager for simple projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Analysis: Analyze Business Intelligence requests to align with existing tools and processes. Organize and complete assigned tasks and associated documentation upon directives from supervisor. Use troubleshooting skills to effectively support Business Intelligence solutions. Develop support plans for new solutions. Escalate unresolved issues with urgency. Seek the appropriate resources needed for activities with multiple tasks. Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues.

    Be personally accountable for commitments to projects, timelines and deliverables. Effectively work with cross functional teams and customers to identify build deficiencies based on customer reporting requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle, Clarity
  • Experience with BI Visualization Tools (MS Power BI and Fabric, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Familiarity/Experience with data virtualization (Denodo)
  • Familiarity/Experience with Data Governance concepts and processes
  • Experience with version control tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A love for technology and curiosity for learning new things
  • Interest in supporting and participating in a positive culture
