- Competitive compensation package. Grade and salary commensurate with experience, with an annualized base salary range of 49,000.plus a bonus based on team and individual performance. The Crop Insurance Service Specialist processes and services Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), Crop Hail (CH), and Private Product insurance policies. This position will provide accurate and efficient service to Farm Credit Illinois’ agents and their members through technical policy support, exceptional internal processing, and collaborative teamwork.
What You Will Contribute- Process and service crop insurance policies by reviewing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy requirements.
- Collect, track, and manage policy documents while ensuring timely submission and processing within internal systems and Approved Insurance Provider platforms.
- Underwrite MPCI and private product policies by validating applications, reviewing supporting documentation, and confirming compliance with applicable guidelines.
- Serve as a resource to agents and regional office staff by addressing documentation questions, resolving processing issues, and coordinating communication with Approved Insurance Providers.
- Support operational excellence by maintaining accurate information within customer relationship management and document management systems.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, special projects, and training efforts that increase efficiency and strengthen service delivery.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity while delivering accurate, responsive, and member-focused support throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of the agriculture industry and crop insurance operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to gather, review, and process detailed documents accurately and efficiently.
- Effective communication and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and resolve issues professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technology tools used to improve accuracy, efficiency, and workflow management.
- Associate’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field
- No prior work experience required.
- Or equivalent education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- Ability to obtain the required insurance license within six months of hire.
