Restaurant General Manager Responsibilities:
All managers, regardless of position, share responsibility of and are accountable for following the World Wide Wings Manager Description in conjunction with the specific job description for this position in the company.
Responsibilities- Teach, develop and coach staff to achieve guest focus, team focus, and community connection, and ensure brand integrity.
- Provide leadership to manage staff resources, counsel, train, develop and coach Assistant General Manager (if assigned), Department Managers, Restaurant Support Managers and Hourly Team Members to build sales and profits while maintaining operating standards.
- Ensure overall operation of the assigned restaurant, meeting financial and operating goals and maintaining Buffalo Wild Wings brand standards.
- Team: create, implement and execute the overall business staffing plan; ensure proper staffing levels; ensure Department Managers are trained to hire high-quality team members.
- Prepare the manager schedule to ensure proper business coverage according to World Wide Wings Quality Manager Schedule Guidelines.
- Oversee human resources, ensuring 100% compliance with laws, company policies and procedures; communicate employee benefits and provide ongoing feedback, recognition and performance reviews.
- Hold all managers and team members accountable for contributing to team and company objectives; maintain an open-door policy for communication.
- Provide direction to managers for performance management of team members; train and develop managers, with focus on Department Managers and Managers-in-Training; create and follow up on Individual Development Plans and performance improvement action plans.
- Ensure development plans for hourly team members are delivered effectively; conduct weekly manager meetings with written agendas; model effective pre-shift meetings and encourage feedback.
- Maintain effective communication among all managers and team members; foster positive morale and a fun work environment; recognize and reward superior performance.
- Achieve turnover and retention targets; model exemplary leadership and ensure adherence to leadership standards.
- Guest focus: maintain hospitality standards, conduct guest visits, and respond to feedback constructively to improve guest counts.
- Attract new guests; build relationships with local businesses and organizations; deliver superior Guest Loyalty Index results through outstanding service and quality.
- Quality Operations: leverage feedback to improve restaurant performance; adhere to systems and procedures for shift execution; ensure Serve Safe, RAS and HACCP standards; comply with laws and regulations; maintain cleanliness and service quality.
- Sales and Profits: develop and implement local store marketing plans; approve department schedules and manage labor control tools; control utility costs; reconcile P&L statements and communicate results to the management team; set and meet sales goals and budget targets.
- Lead safety, security and loss prevention programs; ensure all financial tools and control systems are used; conduct periodic business reviews; manage R&M issues to keep the unit in good condition.
- Complete other assigned duties as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or retail management experience; experience managing a restaurant with a full bar preferred.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, results-driven with strong organizational skills and attention to detail; professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to create a fun, engaging environment for guests and team members; solid mathematical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; maintain confidentiality and enforce company policies and compliance.
- High school education or equivalent; valid driver's license for travel between units; satisfactory background check; ability to meet physical demands.
- Successful completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
