Job Description Compensation Overview:
- The starting pay for this role is $25.20/hr.
- Shift Premium of $0.75/hr on 2nd shift & $1.00/hr on 3rd shift.
- Hourly Bonus Program
Work Schedule:Flexible scheduling, 8‑hour workday with possible overtime.
Employees may work weekends and holidays.
Statement of the Job: Under the direction of the Quality Lead, the person selected for this position will be expected to become familiar with all aspects of Quality Assurance and provide cross‑functional support to the Quality Lead. The Quality Technician must work closely with the other members of the quality team and will be required to work without direct supervision. The Quality Technician will be required to continually contribute to the improvement of quality processes.
Responsibilities:
Independently provides shift Quality support and troubleshoots issues. Performs investigations (Consumer Complaints, Extraneous, Overhead Leak, etc.)Understands business unit formulation to assist in implementation of new/changed formulas, including, but not limited to, updating formula spread sheets, batch sheets, related work instructions, processing programs (such as: RS Batch), and the Quality formula database. (Computer knowledge is a must, Microsoft Excel and Access)Performs hold and release for non‑conforming finished product and raw materials. Includes: placing product on hold in SAP and Matrix, placing hold signs on bays, voicemail call outs and investigation reports. Provides follow‑up on hold issues and collects samples from the Distribution Center and submits for testing (when applicable).Covers for the Quality Supervisor, as needed.Performs weight control/fluid fill retargeting annually and as needed.Tracks, trends and updates Quality KPI’s, send out periodic reports, and provides follow‑up as needed.Performs early releases on products.Responsible for maintaining HACCP.Continuously audits quality systems for compliance, including Critical Control Points, Manufacturing Procedures, weight control, batch sheets, and HACCP plans.Audits plant facility condition, outside warehouse conditions, housekeeping, GMP's and sanitation procedures.Assists in auditing lot accountability and product traceability using SAP and production records.Review analytic and weight control reports for compliance and perform necessary follow‑ups.Verifies finished product packaging matches Kraft Specifications.Completes Specification Change Notices.Assists in Quality training programs - GMP's, HACCP, weight control, Interns, new Supervisors…etc.Participate on teams as assigned.Assist Quality Lead in preparation for meetings (i.e., Quality Review Meetings), as needed.Prepares and ships samples and/or packages, including overnight delivery.Runs x‑ray machine and manages related projects.Supports pest control function, when necessary.Responsible for continuous learning and education.Works in a safe manner and be aware of potential safety hazards.Maintains safety records.Participates in daily finished product grading.Performs swabbing as necessary.Comply with all Kraft Foods GMP policies.Other duties as assigned by the Quality Staff.Know, understand, and comply with Kraft Food’s Environmental Policy. Reduce Kraft’s Environmental footprint.Safety Responsibility: Responsible for wearing proper PPE, compliance of safety training, policy and procedures and report any unsafe safety conditions to a Supervisor/Management.
Equipment Operated: Forklift, Cushman Cart, Sweeper/Scrubber.
Value of Material: Production line decisions can involve up to and over $100,000 of product costs.
Lifting Requirements: Will involve lifting up to 50lbs during sampling, troubleshooting or investigating Quality issues.
Working Conditions: Flexible shifts and alternate work week. Technician will be assigned a home shift and work week, but some overlap of responsibilities/coverage is necessary for vacation coverage and other duties as assigned. Must be able to work in a variety of physical environments that include, but are not limited to: varying degrees of temperature, humidity and noise. Must be able to work with and around varying types of chemicals.
