Maintenance Technician – Silgan Closures, Champaign, IL

Silgan Closures, a Fortune 500 global manufacturer and leader in sustainable packaging, is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician for its Champaign, Illinois facility. This role is ideal for an experienced industrial maintenance mechanic with hands‑on expertise supporting high‑speed injection molding and compression molding equipment.

• Hourly pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Shift differential: +$1.00 per hour for night shift
• Shift: 12‑hour night shift, 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
• Schedule:
  
  2‑2‑3 rotation with every other weekend off (Friday–Sunday)

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair injection molding and compression molding machinery
• Maintain auxiliary equipment, production systems, and facility infrastructure
• Minimize downtime by responding to equipment breakdowns in a high‑speed manufacturing environment
• Repair and rebuild spare parts using hand tools, precision measuring devices, blueprints, and schematics
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Quality Assurance Technicians, Process Technicians, Molders, Lining Technicians, and Printer Technicians
• Enter, track, and close work orders using EAM/CMMS maintenance management software
• Maintain equipment and work spaces in compliance with GMP, Food Safety, HACCP, and plant safety standards
• Assist with general facility and grounds maintenance, including snow removal as needed

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or maintenance mechanic experience
• Proven ability to perform mechanical maintenance tasks to quality and safety standards
• Experience working with heavy‑duty industrial equipment in manufacturing or production settings
• Ability to work independently on night shifts in a fast‑paced environment
