Electromechanical Assembler II – Control Panel Wiring & Machine Build
Reports To:
Electrical Assembly Supervisor
We're hiring an experienced Electromechanical Assembler II to build and wire industrial control panels, cabinets, and machine assemblies for high‑speed packaging equipment. You will work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Materials to assemble panels, route wire, terminate components, and support engineering during test, troubleshoot, and start‑up. This is a hands‑on, in‑house build role for someone who takes pride in clean, code‑compliant panel work.
- Build and wire industrial electrical control panels, enclosures, and machine subassemblies from schematics, electrical prints, and BOMs
- Route, cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and label wire and cable (point‑to‑point wiring, DIN rail, wire duct)
- Perform mechanical fabrication: drilling, tapping, conduit bending, enclosure prep, panel layout
- Support electrical engineers and test technicians during machine wiring, troubleshooting, point‑to‑point checks, and start‑up
- Follow build instructions, complete QC documentation, and work to UL/NEC standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S practices
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience building electrical control panels and machine wiring in an industrial / OEM / machine builder environment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic prints, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Materials
- Strong working knowledge of control components: breakers, relays, contractors, switches, timers, terminal blocks, PLCs, VFDs
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, crimpers, torque tools, multimeters, and pneumatic equipment
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and gantry systems
- Comfortable with conduit bending, drilling, tapping, and basic fabrication
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Electrical, or related a plus - UL 508A panel build experience a strong plus
Work is performed on‑site at our Carol Stream facility. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, stand, walk, and reach above head and below knees throughout a shift.
