The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Foundry Specialists! As a Foundry Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform a variety of manual and/or machine functions related to core making such as dipping, inspecting and assembling cores. You will also operate and/or lock out equipment to clean molding floor and reclaim or dispose of sand in basement levels.
** Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
*** Core box mounting
* Mixing and testing core sand
* Bolt threading
* Molding functions such as preparing pouring basins
* Mold spraying, drying and/or venting
* Operating punch-out and related equipment
* Finishing functions such as riser breaking
* Hand chipping and finning
* Operating shakeouts, stand and portable grinders
* Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** One-year prior manufacturing work experience
* Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
* Ability to stand throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift
* Ability to operate heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment
** Top candidates will also have:
*** Previous machine shop or foundry experience
* Computer knowledge
* Verbal and written communication skills
* Problem solving and decision-making
* Math skills
