A Day in the Life You arrive, review your work orders, and prepare your cell. Safety first—apply lockout/tagout where required, verify machine guarding, and keep your area clean and organized. You’ll sign out precision gauges from Quality Assurance and set them to print specifications before you run a first article, document results, and make adjustments to achieve setup approval.
Throughout the shift, you’ll configure and run a variety of equipment to assemble aerospace bearings and related components:
Presses:
Swap dies and pins; install staking, stamping, and fitting fixtures; add shims as needed. Adjust hydraulic pressure and stroke to spec.
Laser Marker:
Change fixtures, plates, rods, and spacers; load the correct program for each job.
Inkjet Marking:
Modify format, set track speed, and switch between rotary and inline modes.
Electro-Etch:
Select the right pins, pads, and solution; dial in the proper settings.
Ovens:
Set temperatures and timers precisely for process requirements.
Fit Operations:
Choose and change fixtures, pins, and shims to achieve correct fit.
2-Piece Swage:
Install dies, pins, and bushings for reliable swaging results.
Swage (Spherical Inserts):
Configure dies, pins, shims, and springs to meet tight tolerances.
As you run production, you’ll load parts, cycle equipment, and inspect at defined intervals—visually, by feel, and with gauges—to maintain dimensional and marking accuracy. You’ll wash parts as required, move material to and from the scale and work area, maintain machine fluid levels, and immediately alert a Lead or Supervisor to unusual conditions.
What You’ll Bring High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary/trade or technical training preferred
Mechanical aptitude with strong shop math Ability to follow detailed written and verbal work instructions
Clear, professional communication with teammates, suppliers, and plant leadership
Preferred Proficiencies Equipment troubleshooting and root cause tools (5 Why)
ITAR awareness and AS9100 environment experience
Use of visual inspection aidsOSHA 10-hour certification
Precision measurement and hand metrology
Machine safety inspections
Efficient machine setups for production runs Solid shop math and blueprint reading
Tools You’ll Use Punch Press Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay: $18.50 – $21.86, commensurate with education and experience. This full-time role includes eligibility for paid time off, 401(k), and a comprehensive medical, dental, and vision package.
