Job Description

Occupational Health Nurse (2nd Shift) located in Champaign, IL. This role serves as an advanced nurse generalist within the Corporate Medical Department, providing comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury, case management, medical record maintenance, and support to various business units.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury
  • Function as an autonomous nurse with the ability to respond independently to the majority of clinical situations
  • Respond to and lead on‑site medical emergency response
  • Represent the Corporate Medical Department, its policies and strategy
  • Seek ways to innovate, improve and create best‑in‑class occupational medical practices
  • Provide case management services for employees on medical leave of absence from work
  • Act as the centralized repository for medical data and the HIPAA‑compliant liaison
  • Support C&B and HR in the administration of various disability plans and payroll policies
  • Receive and critically evaluate medical documentation to determine the need for medical leave and the appropriateness of medical restrictions and accommodations
  • Consult and provide feedback to employees and providers on evidence‑based practice guidelines
  • Provide occupational support, health coaching and referrals to appropriate care
  • Assist occupational physicians in evaluating readiness for return‑to‑work
  • Compile and maintain accurate and complete records within appropriate database(s)
  • Serve as a member of the disability management team in the ongoing improvement of the case management processes
  • Provide appropriate referrals for regulatory compliance with Family Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act
Basic Requirements
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
  • 3–5 years of nursing experience, occupational health experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to learn and manipulate various online databases

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of job‑related experience in occupational medicine or acute care
  • Knowledge in various areas of occupational health and Human Resources
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Outstanding clinical skills and judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
Additional Information
  • This position will be located in Champaign, IL
  • This is a 2nd shift position; the successful candidate must be willing to work flex hours on alternate shifts as needed

Summary Pay Range: $81,370.00 – $. Compensation and benefits may vary based on job level, location, experience, and performance.
