Our global team works to build a better world. Caterpillar seeks an Occupational Health Nurse (2nd shift) in Champaign, IL; safety is our top priority across all locations. You will provide advanced nurse generalist care in a large high-volume medical clinic or administrative office environment, support the Human Resources strategy, and serve various stakeholders including Operations, EH&S, HR, Compensation & Benefits, and the Corporate Medical team.

• Delivery of comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury
• Function as an autonomous nurse with the ability to respond independently to the majority of clinical situations
• Respond to and lead on-site medical emergency response
• Represent the Corporate Medical Department, its policies and strategy
• Seek ways to innovate, improve and create best‑in‑class occupational medical practices
• Provide case management services for employees on medical leave of absence from work
• Act as the centralized repository for medical data and the HIPAA‑compliant liaison
• Support C+B and HR in the administration of various disability plans and payroll policies
• Receive and critically evaluate medical documentation to determine the need for medical leave and the appropriateness of both medical restrictions and accommodations
• Consult and provide feedback to employees and providers on evidence‑based practice guidelines
• Provide occupational support, health coaching and referrals to appropriate care
• Assist occupational physicians in evaluating readiness for return‑to‑work
• Compile and maintain accurate and complete records within appropriate database(s)
• Serve as a member of the disability management team in the ongoing improvement of the case management processes
• Provide appropriate referrals for regulatory compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
• 3-5 years of nursing experience, occupational health experience preferred
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to learn and manipulate various online databases

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of job‑related experience in occupational medicine or acute care
• Knowledge in various areas of occupational health and Human resources
• Ability to work autonomously with limited direct supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Outstanding clinical skills and judgment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organization skills

• This position will be located in Champaign, IL
• This is a 2nd shift position, but the successful candidate must be willing to work flex hours on alternate shifts as needed
