Travel RN - GI​/Endoscopy

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring IL RN licensure and at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACL S certification (AHA) required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required
• Experience with IV initiation, health history review, patient education, and phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
• Skilled in nursing documentation, delegation, and application of the nursing process

• Work in an outpatient endoscopy center performing routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
• Float between the Endoscopy Center and Digestive Health Department
• Day shift with rotating start times between 0630 and 0830
• Schedule consists of four 9-hour shifts per week with a rotating day off
• No weekend or holiday shift requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Provide direct patient care throughout endoscopy prep, intra-procedure, and recovery phases
• Administer moderate sedation under physician direction
• Assist the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
• Complete patient assessments, review health history, and initiate IVs prior to procedures
• Deliver patient education and manage phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
• Collaborate with unit staff and delegate to unlicensed personnel as appropriate
• Report and correct safety hazards and incidents as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
