Role Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under supervision, delivering nursing services in accordance with their scope of practice and provider instructions.

• Administer medications via various routes and assist providers with procedures such as exams, suturing, and incision care.
• Document patient responses accurately and report to registered nurses or providers for care adjustments.
• Participate in code team activities and serve as a preceptor for new staff.
• Perform patient rooming, vital sign collection, specimen processing, and preparation for sterilization.
• Handle telephone communications, provide patient education, and assist with medication refills per protocols.
• Obtain patient information, perform exam room rounding, and collect specimens following proper procedures.
• Maintain competencies in point-of-care testing, equipment handling, and specialty procedures like IV hydration and catheterizations.

• Current LPN license and BLS certification within 30 days.
• Relevant educational credentials (diploma and certification).
• Competency in procedures such as suture removal, splint application, and specimen collection.
• Strong documentation, communication, and patient care skills.
