Quality Assurance Technician – Champaign

Silgan, a global leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure products meet Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and HACCP standards within our manufacturing facility in Champaign.

• Identify and react to Food Safety, GMP, and HACCP concerns.
• Measure, observe, and inspect processes and products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform duties during startup, changeovers, line clearance, preventive maintenance, and in‑processing.
• Follow GMP requirements and prevent any GMP‑type issues from affecting product integrity.
• Conduct visual inspections/audits to verify visual defect requirements are met.
• Interpret printed specifications, perform calculations, and document results accurately.
• Communicate findings with supervisors, shift personnel, and management.
• Create and maintain documentation required by procedures and work instructions.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages).
• Excellent communication and written skills; ability to write legibly.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency in MS Office preferred.

• 12‑hour rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
• Hourly pay range $23.89–$26.56, paid weekly.
• Paid breaks and paid holidays starting on the first day.
