Position: Quality Assurance Technician I - Champaign, IL

Job Title

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible to identify and react to Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP concerns
  • Measurement, observation and inspection of process and product to ensure products meet quality requirements according to specification. This would include startups, changeovers, line clearance, PM's and in-processing during the shift
  • Follow GMP requirements and ensure that GMP type issues do not affect the integrity of the product produced
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Able to read and interpret prints for measurements and specifications
  • Communication with supervisor, shift personnel and management staff
  • Create and maintain documentation as required by procedures and work instructions, ensuring paperwork is completed correctly
  • Office of if it is not a gage or operator error, place the product on hold per the nonconforming material procedure
  • When the computer shows that the product does not meet the specification, check to ensure it is not due to gauge or operator error
  • Visually inspect/audit the product to determine that the visual defect requirements are met
  • Understanding of the Visual Quality Standards for all products being manufactured
  • Understand sample size and frequency for testing. Full Shots, Full Rounds, and subgroups
  • Perform quality duties per the work instructions during the shift
