The Validation Specialist is responsible for supporting product validation activities through dimensional measurement, data analysis, and verification of components and assemblies against engineering requirements. This role contributes to New Product Development (NPD) and product design changes, ensuring products meet design intent and are ready for manufacturing through structured validation and testing support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform measurement and evaluation of components and assemblies to support product validation activities. (See Measurement Tools and Equipment listed below.)
- Review and analyze dimensional data provided by suppliers to confirm alignment with engineering specifications and validation requirements.
- Conduct statistical capability studies (Cp, Cpk, etc.) on internal and external data to support data-driven decisions through the use of data acquisition and statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel, or equivalent)
- Support New Product Development (NPD) by generating dimensional data for prototype builds, validation runs, and design verification activities.
- Evaluate and support product design changes, including assessing dimensional impact, validating revised features, and confirming readiness for release.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support development timelines and resolve dimensional issues.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure components meet requirements and to address gaps identified during development and build phases.
- Operate and maintain measurement and test equipment (e.g., CMMs, calipers, micrometers, optical systems, gauges) to generate accurate data.
- Document and communicate results, findings, and risks, ensuring traceability throughout development and design change processes.
- Support design verification and product validation (DV/PV) activities, including data collection, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.
- Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor.

- Education and/or
Experience:
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or 1-3 years of experience). Experience in product development, prototype builds, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with design verification, product validation, and product launch activities.
- Measurement Tools & Equipment The Validation Specialist must be capable of operating and interpreting data from a variety of dimensional measurement and inspection systems, including:
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and associated software
- Optical measurement systems and vision inspection equipment
- 3D scanner
- Digital and manual calipers
- Outside, inside, and depth micrometers
- Height gauges and surface plates
- Dial indicators and test indicators
- Bore gauges and pin gauges
- Thread gauges and plug gauges
- Go/No-Go gauges
- Surface roughness and profile measurement equipment
- Optical comparator
- Force, torque, and functional test equipment as required
- Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
