We are seeking a motivated Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) for the Fall 2026 semester. The position is eligible for renewal for the Spring 2027 semester based on performance, and for subsequent semesters subject to funding availability. The GRA position includes a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend of $1,510. The hired GRA will work 20 hours per week, developing AI-based network applications within a private 5G network environment.
This role requires strong self‑motivation, the ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies, and proficiency in technical writing in English. The hired Graduate Research Assistant will report directly to Dr. Yongning Tang.
- Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook.
- Must be a degree‑seeking graduate student at Illinois State University enrolled in the School of IT Graduate Program working toward an MS in Information Systems or Computer Science.
- Coding – Python required; other programming skills are a plus.
- Basic AI/ML programming experience.
- Basic TCP/IP and wireless communications knowledge.
