K3 is seeking two Chemist II professionals for a 1-year contract opportunity supporting laboratory research and analytical testing in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analytical chemist with strong hands‑on instrumentation skills and a solid foundation in chemistry.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional weekend hours

• Strong hands‑on experience with analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, UV/VIS, MS, ICP, and related techniques
• Laboratory research experience in an academic and/or industry setting
• Familiarity with GMP/GLP and experience working in a regulated environment
• Ability to present experimental findings to larger groups
• Strong foundation in chemistry fundamentals
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks using standard procedures and appropriate technical understanding
• Independently generate precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner
• Document experiments in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Interpret experimental data and demonstrate strong understanding of core scientific disciplines
• Develop protocols for more complex tests and experiments with less‑defined assays and parameters
• Ensure safety and GxP requirements are met during laboratory activities
• Deliver high‑quality, precise data in a timely and GxP‑compliant manner
• Use computer applications, spreadsheets, and instrument‑related systems
• Present experimental findings to larger audiences

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience
• Pharmaceutical industry laboratory experience is preferred
• Hands‑on experience with HPLC, GC, LC/MS

• Empower
• Open Lab
• Chromeleon
• Familiarity with GMP and GLP
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to present scientific findings to larger groups
• Research presentations and/or publications
• Experience presenting findings to scientific organizations
• Strong demonstrated laboratory skills across analytical instrumentation

This is a 100% onsite position in Lake County, IL
, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work.
