Retail Customer Service Associate

Position Summary

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer-service focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating activities in the Store, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate Fed Ex Office products and services.

The Store Consultant operates and maintains a variety of equipment, moves boxes, stocks materials, manages the production queue and output, handles complex projects, manages retail supply, and completes assigned tasks based on priority.

Fed Ex Office benefits are based on position, average hours, length of service, and plan/program requirements.

• Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision coverage and participate in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) on date of hire.
• Part-time employees who have completed 91 days of employment and worked a minimum average of 17 hours per week are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision coverage and participate in FSA.
• 401(k) plan with company match after one year of service; eligibility begins on the first day of the month coincident with or following one month of service.
• Educational assistance up to $5,250 per calendar year for tuition and other allowable education expenses. Must be working at Fed Ex for 90 continuous days to receive reimbursement.
• Generous paid time off program includes holiday pay, bereavement time, and accrual programs for paid vacation and sick time. Paid time off depends on job classification and length of employment.
• Employees accrue paid sick time at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 72 hours, unless a higher amount is otherwise required by law.
• Vacation accrues based on position, hours worked, and years of service unless otherwise required by law. For part-time employees, accrue after 1 year of service at a rate of 3.34 hours for every 173 hours worked. For full-time employees, accrue immediately based on hours worked to accrue approximately one or two weeks of paid vacation in the first year and work up to more paid vacation time with tenure.

• Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other team members in performing store functions.
• Assists in the training of store team members.

• Demonstrates consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer’s individualized need.
• Provides customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines and can recommend appropriate Fed Ex Office products and services.
• Provides an outstanding customer service experience by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs.
• Ensures all customer problems are resolved quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Takes complex customer orders using order systems and provides accurate pricing information.
• Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels.
• Sets up and operates printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents.
• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly retail Store.
