Job Title

Sales Representative

Primary responsibility: manage the sales process while providing excellent customer service. Continuously source new customers, help them find and design their dream home, and ensure a smooth sales process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate D.R. Horton’s value proposition, product vision and capabilities to potential customers.
  • Uncover and understand customer goals and challenges, then establish D.R. Horton as the best solution.
  • Overcome objections and close for the sale.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of the transaction from sale through loan, options, and construction.
  • Continually source new sales opportunities.
  • Create and provide to management a marketing plan for establishing new customer relationships.
  • Network and perform outreach to realtors.
  • Manage time efficiently, meet sales goals, and work effectively with team members.
  • Maintain and expand database of prospects.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with prospective customers, realtors, and team members.
  • Execute policies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree or 2 years of related experience.
  • Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and be able to drive during day or night.
  • Ability to use D.R. Horton sales applications on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or application instructions.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
  • Physical requirements:

    stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8‑hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on uneven terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; lift or move up to 25 pounds; vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision.
  • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level generally moderate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State licensing requirements vary.
  • Prior CRM software experience.
  • Previous sales experience in the housing industry preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong motivation.
