Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls to promote, sell and service Medtronic Perfusion, Blood Management, and ECLS products to existing and competitive customers based on a strategic territory plan.
  • Engage key stakeholders: cardiac surgeons, cardiovascular OR teams, perfusionists, ECLS physicians, ECLS Directors, ECLS Coordinators, hospital administration, clinical directors, and material management.
  • Achieve overall sales AOP with a focus on all new ECLS product buckets (ECLS Cannula, ECLS Vital Flow, ECLS Perfusion).
  • Develop, implement, and execute quarterly strategic sales plans to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Create detailed forecasts with customer commitments to measure success.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new and existing customers in line with established sales plans and key accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, personable relationships with key customers to drive profitable business.
  • Maintain high technical expertise in cardiopulmonary/cardiac procedures and ECMO/ECLS clinical topics.
  • Perform in‑service and provide basic clinical support on all ECT/ECLS products autonomously to customers.
  • Collaborate with ECLS Clinical Specialist to support customers and triage acute ECT/ECLS questions or concerns.
  • Provide feedback to R&D, Operations, and Marketing on new or modified products based on customer needs.
  • Identify and facilitate customer attendance at education programs and key customer visits.
  • Coordinate customer activities at all assigned meetings.
  • Train and educate both existing and competitive customers to gain incremental business and advise on product portfolio performance.
  • Complete all administrative reporting accurately and timely, including expense reports, account profiles, daily planners, weekly activity logs, competitive updates, and CRM inputs.
  • Ensure input and accuracy of daily CRM activity reports.
  • Manage time, assets, and resources cost‑effectively and maintain territory budget in line with strategic plans.
  • Assist in management of customer inventory, including back‑orders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, all divisions’ products, and competitor strategies.
  • Participate in training as required.
  • Ensure compliance with credentialing requirements of hospitals or clinics.
Key Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years experience, OR Associate’s Degree with 8+ years experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years experience in sales, clinical, or related fields (medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Experience in selling to surgeons, perfusionists, ECMO physicians, and related support teams in cardiac operating rooms.
  • Track record of success in high‑pressure sales environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding sales and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated forecasting and territory planning skills.
  • Ability to learn highly technical products and equipment quickly.
  • Capability to in‑service and clinically support ECT/ECLS products independently.
  • Preferred: ECMO experience, Medtronic experience, local qualification.
