Regional Sales Manager – Metrology (Central US, West Dundee, IL)
Reporting to the District Sales Manager, a Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling all core Renishaw metrology products:
Calibration, Machine Tool, CMM, and Styli through account management and new business development within a specific territory (Central US Region).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for sales and support of Renishaw technology in the field of Precision Measurement through OEM, distribution and end user channels.
- Management of OEM, Distributor, End User, and EDU Accounts.
- Introduction of Renishaw Technologies to the above-mentioned channels.
- Develop and effectively deliver customer presentations and demonstrations of products.
- Establish, report on and achieve set sales targets.
- Leverage a CRM, maintain a book of business and grow customer base in the given territory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
- Minimum 5+ years of technical sales experience with a proven track record, selling technology and solutions to OEMs, OEM distributors and end users.
- Experience with the sale of precision measurement equipment (e.g., CNC Machine Tool, Gauging, CMM, Form, Finish, and Calibration products).
- Must demonstrate eligibility to use and access ITAR‑controlled data.
- Preferred:
Technical degree and experience in CNC or CMM programming. - Goal‑driven, resilient in the face of rejection, and persistent in achieving and exceeding key metrics and sales targets.
- Comprehension and understanding of engineering principles and principles of metrology.
- Able to learn, understand and explain the technical aspects of products.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and ability to communicate effectively with all levels and functions of staff.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with diverse personalities (customers, engineers, internal partners).
- Proven ability in cold‑calling and educating new customers to open new opportunities.
- Attention to detail, strong follow‑up skills and organization for maintaining and growing a book of business.
- Experience and confidence in using technology:
Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - History of self‑motivation and results orientation.
- Time‑management and multitasking capability.
- Mechanical aptitude (working with machinery and motion systems).
- Annual compensation range: $120,000 to $135,000, depending on level and location.
