Farm Credit Illinois is seeking a motivated college student to join our team as a Sales Intern in Summer of 2027. This internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience in agriculture lending and crop insurance.

Farm Credit Illinois is an agricultural financial cooperative owned by more than 17,400 farmers, rural landowners, and agribusiness voting stockholder members in the southern 60 counties of Illinois. Dedicated to Helping Farm Families Succeed, FCI provides competitive and flexible financing, crop insurance expertise, and Rural 1st country life lending. FCI manages a $8 billion loan portfolio, sells 1.5 million acres of crop insurance coverage, and employs 300 staff in the Mahomet headquarters and 14 regional offices.

What You Will Do:
  • Explore sales career paths in agricultural lending and crop insurance through hands-on experience and job shadowing.
  • Complete meaningful projects that support member service and business development.
  • Prospect for new customers, assist with loan submissions and acreage reports, and attend sales training sessions.
  • Collaborate with regional teams while developing independent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Participate in a mentor program and team-building activities while learning about agriculture in central and southern Illinois.
  • Receive a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 per hour, reimbursement for business travel, and paid leave in accordance with the Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
  • Work full-time (M-F, 8:00 a.m.

    - 4:30 p.m. May 17, 2027 - August 5, 2027) from multiple Farm Credit Regional Offices throughout the FCI territory. The intern must be open to relocation every few weeks during the summer. All business expenses incurred, including hotel accommodations, will be reimbursed.
Eligibility:

Must be enrolled as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters with the intent to be enrolled as students in Fall 2027 as well. Preferred majors include ag business, ag econ, and business.
