School of Social Work Graduate Assistants are assigned to Administrative Professionals and the School Director to assist with the administrative tasks and responsibilities of their positions.
The tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting, planning, and executing:
- Admissions Process
- Recruitment and Retention Activities
- Orientation Sessions for Students and/or Internship Supervisors
- Practicum Placement Process
- Social Work Club
- Social Work Themed Living-Learning Community
- School of Social Work Sponsored Events
- Welcoming Visitors at the Front Desk
- Assisting with the Office Administrative Tasks as Needed
$755 per month
Required Qualifications- Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook.
- Must be a degree‑seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Social Work.
- Applicants will have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants will already be admitted to or currently enrolled in the School of Social Work at Illinois State University pursuing a Master in Social Work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working with confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with students and manage student programming.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Forms, etc.) and comfortability navigating program-specific systems.
