Director, Inventory Control And Mail Center
The Director, Inventory Control And Mail Center is responsible for overall areas of inventory control, assembly, and mail center. They are responsible for supervisory responsibilities and work flow for inventory control staff, assembly staff and mail center staff. They monitor and approve all third-party, full-service distributor orders that are submitted, forwarding information to Customer Service for entry into the Vista system.
They must ensure proper inventory levels are procured and maintained for all inventory products, which includes assembled product. They also interact with other units of HK to ensure products are set up correctly. They will oversee all procedures from other HK units that will potentially affect inventory recording and reporting. They represent the department when communicating on issues or requests from other units of HK as well as subsidiary and full service distributors.
Essential Functions
1. Oversee and coordinate daily operations of inventory control and mail center.
2. Effectively oversee mail center ensuring timely printing, copying, binding and mail services for the organization.
3. Oversee department projects and needs ensuring all work meets deadlines and is performed according to HK standards and policies
4. Develop and write department processes and procedures.
5. Responsible for departmental staffing, hiring, termination, assessing performance, creating job descriptions, and completing tri annual check ins.
6. Monitor workload and tasks of staff, adjust schedules as needed to ensure work is completed timely and accurately.
7. Review distributor orders, adjust order quantities as needed to ensure optimal consigned inventory to limit write offs, and communicate changes to distributor.
8. Oversee assessment of assembled inventory quantities, initiation of work orders, and creation of assemblies to avoid back orders and out of stock.
9. Receive product into ERP system.
10. Liaise with HK departments and divisions on inventory planning, ordering, obsolescence, assemblies and mail center activities.
11. Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports providing statistics on assemblies, receipts, product setup, mail center tasks, inventory stock levels, write offs, product defects, receipts and special projects as assigned.
12. Liaise with HK departments and divisions to advise on best practices for inventory management, product assemblies, and mail center activity.
13. Provide positive and consistent leadership and coaching, re-enforcing HK objectives and values leading by example.
Secondary Functions
1. Analyze and make recommendations to Division VP's and full service distributors with consignment inventory for write off of slow moving or obsolete inventory.
2. Complete write-off of inventory in ERP.
3. Conceptualize and implement physical inventory procedures and ensure accurate count and adjustments occur.
4. Coordinate demand planning, forecasting and ordering of inventory quantities with Inventory Analyst.
5. Act as backup for out of office time for inventory and mail center staff.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in supply chain preferred.
Required Experience:
3 + years' supervisory experience or a leadership role PLUS 3+ years' inventory management and mail center experience required.
Preferred Experience:
5-8 years' supervisory experience or a leadership role PLUS 5-8 years' experience in inventory management.
Strong knowledge of Human Kinetics products, ONIX distribution, product setup and ERP software.
Competencies
