Full-Time 184 days/6.5 hrs/day
Duties- Managing behavior (redirecting, calming or removing a disruptive student from the classroom)
- Monitoring and recording student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.)
- Managing physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Personal Care Assistant certification required to be completed within 30 days of start date.
- Completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the Para Educator exam or Para Pro exam (documentation required).
- Good communications, interpersonal and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, supervise students, take direction, and maintain regular attendance.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical tasks, data functions, and people functions, such as toileting, feeding and self‑care procedures, implementing behavioral management programs, maintaining student data, and working with students who may display aggressive or inappropriate behavior.
- Must be physically able to work in the building.
$20.00/hour to $25.30/hour DOQ with K-12 experience
$21.15/hour to $26.45/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K-12 experience*
$22.00/hour to $27.30/hour with BA degree from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K-12 experience
Special Ed Paras serving Center‑based students and classrooms 50 percent or more of their time shall receive an additional $0.50 per hour.
Special Ed Paras at Two Rivers Transition Program or River Trail Learning Center shall receive an additional $1.00 per hour.

Insurance benefits are available for assigned positions of 6 hours or more per day. Paraeducators assigned to positions of six (6) or more hours per day who are hired on or after March 9, 2026, will become eligible for insurance benefits at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
