Overview
Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Control Panel Technician position located in Champlin, MN. A Control Panel Technician fabricates and assembles electrical control panels (Power components, PLC's, VFD's, MCC's, etc.), Instrumentation Control Panels, and any other fabrication as required. With a primary focus on accuracy, on-time, and on-budget.
ResponsibilitiesThe basic responsibilities of the Control Panel Technician include but are not limited to the following:
- Wire control panels to UL508 requirements.
- Read and interpret various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, panel layout drawings, electrical schematics that are used to build and wire electrical control panels.
- Layout and mount control panel parts per panel layout drawings.
- Use a variety of hand/power tools as required to assemble and wire electrical control panels.
- Employ panel-building best practices to ensure a high degree of quality.
- Document notes, delays and issues during the building process.
- Assist in 5S activities as required.
- Identify and assist in Continuous Process Improvement measures.
- Adhere to all safety and security guidelines applicable to the shop and warehouse.
- Maintain professionalism with co-workers, customers, sub-contractors, vendors, project managers, office, and field staff.
- Work in a team environment to accomplish tasks at hand.
- 2 years experience building electrical control panels.
- Electrical or electronics training or education preferred.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Normal vision acuity with the ability to detect color and read small print.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team).
- Highly motivated and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Good hand dexterity and strength.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English without the aid of an interpreter.
- Ability to work overtime depending on workload.

Pay Rate: $23.00-$39.00 per hour (wage rate/classification as defined in the IBEW Local 292 Minnesota Statewide Agreement).
