Overview
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Egan, based out of our Champlin, MN office. In this hybrid role, you'll be part of our Electrical Solutions and Prefabrication team, collaborating closely with project partners to plan, setup and manage design/build construction projects. You'll work alongside project teams from early design through completion, playing a hands‑on role in delivering high-quality electrical solutions.

The basic responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with the project design team to plan, setup and manage a design/build construction project(s).
- Navigate and use Egan's AutoCAD and/or Revit systems and processes.
- Independently perform the following:
- Manage project(s) from start to finish or take over an in-progress project(s)
- Set up a project or work on an existing project(s).
- Prepare electrical construction documents and/or change documents using Revit or AutoCAD.
- Electrical design and Engineering tasks such as:
- General project planning.
- Circuiting, lighting, UPS, generator/transfer switch, and power system designs.
- General room/building lighting, egress lighting and power device layouts.
- Equipment room layouts.
- Mechanical or other building equipment coordination.
- Perform Energy Code calculations.
- Create designs that comply with various Building/Electrical/Energy codes.
- Attend design/job site meetings in MN.
- Assist with estimating projects.
- Coordinate electrical design with architectural, interior, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and technology designs.
- Review of project(s) shop drawings.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
- Strong working knowledge of UPS systems, generator/transfer switch systems and lighting controls.
- Participate in construction documents and constructability reviews.
- Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.
- Promote a positive safety culture by following Egan's safety policies.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/assigned
- Build strong internal partnerships, work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egan's Mission, Vision and Values.
- Occasional travel to job sites for meetings with field leaders, site verification and job site meetings.
- Four-year degree in either Architectural or Electrical Engineering.
- Two or four-year degree in Electrical Construction Design & Management preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of four years of practical experience working in the construction or design-build field.
- EIT/FE certification/licensing preferred, but not required.
- Working knowledge in Revit and AutoCAD software and the ability to learn and utilize company standards.

- Ability to design electrical systems (power and lighting) and document them for permit and construction use.
- General knowledge of all phases of a project, the required documentation, and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Knowledgeable with construction administration tasks like schedules, RFIs, punch-lists, etc.
- General knowledge of local/State/Federal buildings, electrical and energy codes, and standards.
- Strong working knowledge in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrable organizational skills and able to perform tasks on multiple projects concurrently.
- Courteous, professional, diplomatic and highly motivated.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and methods.
