Controls Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Product & OEM Controls Engineer to join our automation group. This role focuses on automation projects and customer service within the concrete industry. The ideal candidate will excel in designing, installing, and maintaining PLC-based controls in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities- Design and engineer concrete batching control systems that integrate new and existing hardware/software for comprehensive and intuitive operation.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell PLCs, Panel views, VFDs, and industrial communication networks.
- Troubleshoot controls, instruments, and electrical issues affecting manufacturing processes.
- Perform on-site commissioning and training.
- Assist and train maintenance, production, or other technicians in technical or troubleshooting matters.
- Evaluate system equipment analytically to optimize performance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customer control systems on-site or remotely.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using advanced tools, especially digital multimeters.
- Measure voltage, current, and resistance in AC/DC circuits up to 600V to identify electrical faults.
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley, electrical troubleshooting, field service, commissioning, mechatronics, electrical systems, and PLC programming.
- Proficiency in PLC programming/troubleshooting.
- Ability to travel domestically and to Canada, up to 30% of the time.
- Mechanical aptitude, including PLC troubleshooting and VFDs.
- Understanding of UL 508A control panel construction/design requirements.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- 2-4 years of college education.
- 3 or more years of experience with PLCs and components (Compact Logix, Micro Logix).
- Expertise in using digital multimeters for electrical troubleshooting.

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Motivated, creative, and enthusiastic to learn in a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, mostly Monday to Friday.
- Manual dexterity for handling small components and using hand/power tools.
- Ability to climb, balance, and work on ladders and elevated platforms.
- Familiarity with industrial control panel components.
The role involves working in office settings and on job sites across the United States and Canada. Travel is required up to 30% of the time. Employees must be able to stand or sit for extended periods and work in various environments, including tight spaces and varying weather conditions. Initially, the position requires being onsite for learning purposes, with potential for remote work after the first year when not traveling.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
