Mechanical Engineer Refrigeration

Overview Were looking for an Mechanical Engineer Refrigeration to join our team at Egan based out of our Champlin MN office In this hybrid role youll be part of our Mechanical Refrigeration team collaborating closely with project partners to plan setup and manage design build construction projects Youll work alongside project teams from early design through completion playing a hands on role in delivering high quality refrigeration solutions If you enjoy seeing your designs come to life and want to play an active role from concept through construction this is a great opportunity to make an impact Responsibilities The basic responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer include but are not limited to the following Collaborate with the project design team to plan setup and manage a design build construction projects

Navigate and use Egans AutoCAD andor Revit systems and processes

Independently perform the following

Manage projects from start to finish or take over an in progress projects

Set up a project or work on an existing projects

Prepare electrical construction documents andor change documents using Revit or AutoCADRefrigeration design and Engineering tasks such as General project planning

Pipe sizing relief calculations machinery room calculations inventory calculations etc Equipment room layouts

Mechanical or other building equipment coordination

Perform Energy Code calculations

Create designs that comply with various Building Mechanical Codes Attend designjob site meetings

Assist with estimating projects

Coordinate refrigeration design with architectural interior structural mechanical plumbing and technology designs

Review of projects shop drawings

Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects

Strong working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and controls

Participate in construction documents and constructability reviews

Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services

Promote a positive safety culture by following Egans safety policies

Perform additional duties and assignments as requestedassigned

Build strong internal partnerships work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egans Mission Vision and Values Moderate travel to job sites for meetings with field leaders site verification and job site meetings

Requirements

Four year degree in either Mechanical Engineering Minimum of four years of practical experience working in the construction or design build field

EITFE certificationlicensing required

PE licensing is a plus

Qualifications

Ability to design refrigeration systems and document them for permit and construction use General knowledge of all phases of a project the required documentation and the relationship between drawings and specifications

Knowledgeable with construction administration tasks like schedules RFIs punch lists etc General knowledge of local

State

Federal buildings electrical and energy codes and standards

Strong working knowledge in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite or Microsoft Office Demonstrable organizational skills and able to perform tasks on multiple projects concurrently

Courteous professional diplomatic and highly motivated

Ability to adjust to changing priorities and methods

Working Conditions Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time Exposure to loud noise dirt and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites

Climbing laddersstairs uneven ground bending kneeling and twisting are to be expected on job sites
