Overview
At the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician is an entrepreneurial, hands‑on professional that leverages their Safelite training, industry‑leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on the go with our Mobile Glass Shop offerings.
Responsibilities- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop efficiently, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service; clean vehicle after each job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies (True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System, chemicals, “Safelite Way of Fitting”, work order and customer administration systems, and handheld Mobile Resource Management technology).
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $22.25 /hour, increasing to $26.50 /hour after training and certification.
- Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety.
- Technician career levels based on performance metrics (efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction).

- Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.

- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license; any other required license(s) to operate a company vehicle.
- Safelite Safe Tech™ certification.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods; work in tight spaces, bend, and twist.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; agree to monitoring via in‑cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service, exceeding expectations.
- Work outside in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Handle chemicals (including flammable); abide by “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and trouble‑shooting.
- Problem‑solving ability; troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
- Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.
- Communicate orally (phone) and written (computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.
This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through the use of cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
