Position: Fire Alarm Inspection Lead - Union Role
Overview Egan is seeking Fire Alarm Service Technicians for opportunities around the Greater Twin Cities area This is a union position with top rate wages healthcare retirement and vacation benefits We are looking for independent customer service oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards Responsibilities The Fire Alarm Inspection Lead will be responsible for the following key tasks Perform routine fire alarm inspections in compliance with local state and national codes and regulations NFPA 72 local fire codes Complete visual and functional testing of fire alarm systems including detectors horns strobes and control panels Identify any deficiencies in fire alarm systems and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades Document inspection results and prepare and submit inspection reports to clients and the office in a timely manner Service and repair specified electronic life safety systems and peripheral devices Assist with the start up and commissioning of new equipment or system installations Provide training and guidance to customers on the proper operation of life safety equipment Communicate regularly with dispatch coordinators and other team members to complete service requests and inspections efficiently Maintain a professional image in personal and vehicle appearance while interacting with customers and team members Requirements High School diploma or GED required Valid MN Power Limited Technician license NICET Certification is preferred We can assist you in attaining this certification Knowledge of Current NFPA 72 Code Effective interpersonal and customer service skills Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance Valid Drivers License 3 year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW Qualifications Highly motivated and ability to multi task Ability to work independently with limited supervision Attention to detail organization and time management skills Proficiency using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner Good hand dexterity and strength Ability to work well with others Ability work overtime depending on workload Working Conditions Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds alone or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance team Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights Benefits Perks and Pay Beyond the Industry Standard Comprehensive benefits packages are available through the respective union and typically include medical dental and vision insurance retirement savings and more For more information on the unions benefits package and eligibility requirements please inquire with the respective union or refer to its website In addition to the benefits package provided through the local union Egan is committed to providing a workplace that helps you thrive both personally and professionally Well being youre offered comprehensive mental healthcare and support for you and your family Professional Development we support your learning and career growth by offering learning and development opportunities Community Involvement our Beyond the Jobsite program supports causes in the communities in which we live and work through regular volunteer events to connect with each other and help those in need Pay Rate  per hour wage rateclassification as defined in the IBEW Limited Energy Minnesota Statewide Agreement Strong Culture Built on Values and Keeping Promises At Egan youll be part of a team that shares a passion for redefining the industry by setting a new standard of customer care Together well promote teamwork embrace innovation act with integrity pursue growth and prioritize safety Youll have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to providing the growth and success youre looking for both for yourself and for the customers you serve Youll love being part of success shaped by the strength of our team which is enhanced by Solid history as a legacy leader in specialty contracting and system integration for over 80 years
