Position: Accounts Payable Specialist 2

Summary

This role will provide financial and administrative support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by receiving payments, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

Essential Functions
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal , scheduling and preparing payments
  • Works with vendors and procurement to resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensures credit is received for outstanding memos; issues stop-payments.
  • Works with the third‑party service provider to ensure timely and accurate data is provided into the enterprise resource planning system; resolves issues and improves processes as necessary.
  • Provides support to internal and external auditors.
  • Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
  • 2+ years accounts payable experience - in a manufacturing or shared services environment preferred
  • Hands‑on experience using SAP S/4

    HANA for AP processing
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices and relevant regulations
  • Ability to review and reconcile complex vendor statements and identify discrepancies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, People Soft, and MS Dynamics preferred
