Full job descriptionThe Communications Project Coordinator will spearhead projects, streamline the Director’s schedule, and be the go-to contact for our internal departments and external vendors. Your expertise in project management software, basic design skills, and adaptability will be pivotal. By excelling in this role, you’ll be instrumental in bringing our mission of equipping people to share Jesus across Compass Christian Church’s locations and worldwide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communication- Utilize Slack as the central project coordination platform between Compass staff and select vendors.
- Handle Rock RMS (Relationship Management System) requests related to emails, templates, and web pages.
- Assist with updates and maintenance on the Word Press platform.
- Utilize basic graphic design skills to edit pages with pre-existing templates.
- Ensure weekly communications are consistent with Compass branding and error free.
- Coordinate the distribution of physical materials to campuses.
- Manage and track projects using project management software platforms.
- Maintain complete project documents and archives for future use utilizing platforms like One Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Asana.
- Provide administrative support to the Communications Department.
- Follow up on missing information to ensure timely project progression on Asana tasks.
- Manage the department’s financial transactions, including receipts and credit card reconciliations.
- An Associates degree in Communications or Business is preferred.
- 2+ years of previous experience as an administrative assistant is required.
- A willingness to learn new platforms and skills is essential.
- Proficiency in project management software platforms is strongly preferred (e.g., Asana, Trello, Click Up, Monday).
- Familiarity with Word Press is helpful.
- Basic graphic design skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Attend all required staff meetings, retreats, vision nights, and leadership gatherings.
- Serve as a visible leader in the church body—willing to engage with the congregation, welcome guests, and model the Compass leadership culture.
- Maintain flexibility in schedule based on ministry needs, taking into account service preparation, special events, and seasonal productions.
- Work primarily in a professional office setting within the church building.
- The work environment includes standard office equipment and resources.
- Frequent interaction with church members, volunteers, and other staff.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to support church events and activities.
- Can have periods of higher volume, especially around holidays and special events.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers.
- The employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access other employee offices or office machinery.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with assistance.
