AboutThe Role
As a Site Superintendent at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in managing and executing ground‑up multifamily modular construction projects from the field. This full‑time, onsite role is based in Chandler, AZ and requires daily construction site presence. The position demands strong leadership, technical construction knowledge, and a deep commitment to safety and project quality. You will collaborate with subcontractors, project managers, internal departments, and local officials to ensure smooth site operations, adherence to safety standards, and successful project delivery.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Manage daily field operations and oversee subcontractor coordination to maintain construction schedules, quality, and safety standards.
- Develop work sequencing strategies, planning laydown areas and temporary facility layouts for modular projects.
- Maintain and update short‑term schedules, coordinating three‑week look‑aheads with project staff.
- Review and execute project documents to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
- Track schedule progress and budget performance, providing regular reporting and updates to stakeholders.
- Lead daily on‑site meetings, coordinating construction activities with foremen, subcontractors, and team leads.
- Review submittals and manage RFIs, ensuring technical compliance and tracking impact on project timelines.
- Enforce site safety protocols, upholding Z Modular and OSHA standards and promoting safe work practices.
- Coordinate with inspectors and agencies, securing necessary approvals for inspections and compliance.
- Mentor field personnel, supporting development and fostering collaboration across the construction team.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, completing daily logs, field reports, RFIs, and field orders.
- 10+ years of experience in construction, preferably in ground‑up commercial or multifamily projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project), and CAD/CAE tools.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills – able to manage multiple subcontractors and site operations simultaneously.
- Deep knowledge of construction documentation, safety compliance, and modular construction (preferred but not required).
- Certifications preferred – OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or related safety credentials.
