Cost Control Coordinator

Residential Construction | Job Cost & Margin Control Focus

Unique Companies is a $15M high-end residential pool and landscape construction company. We are strengthening our financial and operational systems and are hiring a Cost Control Coordinator to support job cost accuracy and margin protection across multiple active projects.

This is a critical operational role that works closely with Project Managers, the General Manager, and ownership to maintain real-time visibility into job costs, subcontractor commitments, and forecasted profitability.

This is not a bookkeeping position. It is a construction operations and financial coordination role.

• Maintain and update detailed job cost tracking files (SUBPAY system)
• Compare budgeted vs actual costs across active projects
• Track subcontractor bids and committed costs
• Monitor open balances and cost allocations
• Assist in weekly forecast-to-complete reporting
• Integrate data between Quick Books, internal pricing systems, and project management platforms
• Track change orders and ensure proper cost allocation
• Prepare financial summaries for weekly margin review meetings
• Identify cost variance exceeding acceptable thresholds

• 3–7 years experience in construction operations, job costing, or project accounting
• Strong Excel skills required (formulas, tracking sheets, financial summaries)
• Experience in multi-project environments
• Understanding of construction workflow and terminology
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical
• Comfortable working closely with Project Managers
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills

• Residential construction background
• Experience supporting PMs with cost tracking
• Familiarity with Quick Books and construction job cost systems
• Experience working with custom cost tracking spreadsheets

• $70,000–$85,000 starting range depending on experience
