About the Role
We are looking for a Slurry Seal Superintendent for our VSS Emultech facility. This role involves estimating projects, submitting bids, managing awarded projects efficiently and under budget, and ensuring safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Supervise and ensure safety of personnel.
- Critique accuracy of documents and monitor completeness.
- Interact with inspectors daily, reporting project status.
- Direct crew, maintain foreman’s report and job diary for completeness and accuracy.
- Measure streets and monitor rates to ensure specifications are met.
- Verify and procure signed daily material usage sheets and order material, ensuring project progress accuracy.
- Interact with truck drivers and dispatch trucks for rock and oil from construction start.
- Monitor documents for inbound deliveries for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor crew production and public safety.
- Communicate hours and quantity of project status.
- Have thorough knowledge of all paperwork requirements and office procedures relevant to the project.
- Assemble and dispatch crew for upcoming projects.
- Ensure compliance with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Attendance is an essential function.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
- Oversee field operations of the project.
- Responsible for training, performance, inspecting, budgeting, coaching, and counseling to complete projects under budget.
- Minimum three to five years in the road surfacing industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with drivers and customers.
- Proven leadership qualities.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work and commitment to corporate goals.
- Capable of functioning under fast‑paced, stressful working conditions.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Three to five years of road surfacing industry experience and supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.
