JOB TITLE: Project Manager 1
Position DescriptionThe Project Manager is the operational owner of all assigned Construction Scope, including:
- Project Team Leadership
- Manage Trade‑Level Contract Adherence. Schedule alignment and execution: manage critical path and contracted durations.
- Track progress in a standard manner. Provide accurate and timely updates and reports.
- Budget management.
- Change control: provide monthly cost forecasting from commits through final spends.
- Leads construction scope as "owner" within all aspects of the assigned Construction projects.
- Ensures that all deliverables have been met and turned over to the client.
- Ensures that final cost reports are accurate and assists the Tool Install Manager and finance in project close‑out.
- Manages efforts to clear out internal and external project areas of all unused materials and equipment.
- Implements efficiencies and Lean activities that support a competitive financial environment.
- Forecasts and reconciles the monthly construction cost budget.
- Ensures participation in the Design Review Process and provides constructability consultation throughout each phase of the assigned Construction Projects, including handling Requests for Information and construction scope change control processes.
- Owns the timely escalation to management whenever Construction Project Operations and Deliverables are at risk or assistance is needed.
- Contributes verbally in ways that consistently add value to processes, persuading peers and management.
- Summarizes information into concise documents or emails (e.g., one‑page reports or A3s).
- Prepares concise presentations with clearly defined problem statements, risks, and proposed solutions that are reviewed by stakeholders and senior management.
- Provides input and feedback to others regarding team and individual performance, including matrix personnel supporting the
Functional Area
Construction Project Team. - Works collaboratively within the Layout‑Dependent and PSSS construction integration team in relation to scope management and integration.
- Builds and sustains a culture of success, collaboration, and predictability, providing timely and accurate schedule updates.
- Achieves month‑to‑month total forecast variance of 10% or less.
- Manages the primary trade contacts (Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC), and Process Pipe) to ensure compliance with construction specifications, applicable changes, and mandatory mandatories.
- Provides weekly construction progress updates for each tool in the assigned area, indicating accurate per‑tool risk assessments and feasible mitigation plans.
- Adheres to, monitors, and verifies the quality of project deliverables and third‑party contractor activities, validating installations meet mandatory performance standards and Intel’s "Copy Exact" criteria.
- Must be able to work in an integrated team environment, work well in ambiguous settings, self‑directed, and manage multiple priorities.
- Must understand the fundamentals of the Last Planner® System and drive utilization within the Project Team.
- Must possess strong leadership, business partnership, written/verbal communication, and analytical skills essential for aligning with internal customers, peers, and suppliers.
- Must have the skills required to develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and manage execution of multiple simultaneous projects.
- Must possess technical knowledge sufficient to understand engineering decisions and code requirements related to building construction, cleanroom retrofits, and facility electrical, mechanical, and process systems.
- Must have extensive experience using project management software (estimating, scheduling, and procurement systems).
- Bachelor's (4‑year) degree in Construction Management or an engineering discipline.
- L1 PM must demonstrate pursuit of PMP certification.
- Must have 6 years of semiconductor or high‑tech construction experience, OR a 4‑year professional degree in construction management/engineering plus 2 years in semiconductor or high‑tech construction, OR a 2‑year technical degree plus 4 years in semiconductor or high‑tech construction.
