OSP Field Supervisor – Chandler, AZ

Job SummaryAccurate and safe construction of Metronet’s network is vital to our success. The OSP Field Supervisor is the frontline leader who ensures construction is built safely to required standards and specifications, manages crews, resolves community complaints, and maintains the OSP Construction Tracker.
Responsibilities- Maintain understanding of specifications, standard practices, and safety.
- Conduct walkouts and inspections of aerial fiber cable placement on poles and splice points, and underground conduit and handhole installation for quality and compliance.
- Approve all unitized completed aerial work to Metronet’s standards.
- Manage the OSP Construction Tracker and monitor approved budget for each work order.
- Respond to utility strikes, conduct investigations, document strikes within 24 hours, and retrain or terminate contractors as needed.
- Conduct weekly audits of each contractor’s safety, construction, and quality practices.
- Identify contractor training needs and arrange necessary training.
- Ensure weekly safety and communications tailgate meetings with aerial line contractors and coordinate periodic damage prevention meetings in the language most fluent to employees.
$40,000 – $75,000 based on experience.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED; or 3–5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in quality control or outside aerial plant construction.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to follow instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Strong performance under pressure and ability to handle long walks in varied terrain and weather.
- Committed to quality and safety; able to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong diplomatic and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
