Project Overview:
Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success.
The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.
In this role, you will lead architectural activities for large, complex projects, providing technical oversight, coordinating design work, and ensuring quality, compliance, and alignment with project requirements. You will guide the development and review of design standards, specifications, and work processes while helping resolve complex architectural challenges and support client satisfaction. This part-time telework position requires in-person attendance at the assigned office or project location at least three days per week, with schedules determined in coordination with the supervisor and project or functional leadership.
MajorResponsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day architectural activities for complex projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of architectural personnel assigned to the project
- Prepare, review, and manage discipline estimates, work plans, staffing requirements, and execution strategies in accordance with project objectives.
- Provide technical input to support procurement activities, including specifications, requisitions, bid evaluations, and supplier coordination.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions and compliance with Bechtel, client, code, and project requirements.
- Review architectural components of bid evaluations and award recommendations for approval by project leadership.
- Coordinate with client representatives, as directed, to obtain approvals for architectural design requirements and deliverables.
- Review and approve key calculations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders for assigned projects.
- Support the professional development of assigned architectural personnel through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
- Oversee the development of project designs and plans using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, Sketch Up, Photoshop, and/or other design and 3D modeling tools.
- Bachelor of Architecture degree, from an accredited college or university with overall experience of at least 15 years.
- US Registered Architect or licensed architect in participant jurisdictions which are eligible for reciprocal licensure in the US.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of architectural design, production methods, building materials, and construction practices.
- Ability to evaluate technical design issues and support the selection of appropriate design strategies, features, and architectural requirements.
- Knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and precedents as they relate to architectural work.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk tools, including Revit and AutoCAD, and model review software such as Autodesk Navisworks for 3D model navigation, coordination, and review.
- Experience leading formal and informal 3D model reviews to support design coordination and physical model development decisions.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design workflows and their impact on productivity, schedule, budget, and staffing plans.
