Position Summary

The Fabrication Designer position focuses on Fabrication Deliverables and Processes within our Prefabrication Group. A successful Designer will create fabrication documents and details, using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel, to support our fabrication crews. The preferred applicant will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in their career. The Designer will report to a Prefabrication Operations Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities

Create project specific, fabrication details, drawings and other supporting documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel
Assist in the development and implementation of design standards
Ensure proper dimensions of layout of equipment, devices, and other components through careful reading of specs or construction and engineering plans
Communicate technical aspects of a project with other disciplines in the prefabrication department
Read and interpret construction drawings and documents
Support the broader team in evaluation of new technologies to increase design efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with minimum of 2 years' experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Revit
General knowledge of construction/fabrication principles, processes, and plans
Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products
Solid interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter with a strong work ethic
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred
