Assistant Pastor Journey of Faith Church connecting people to Christ and one

Journey of Faith is a multi-ethnic, non-denominational evangelical church of about 100 attendees seeking a full-time Assistant Pastor who has a passion to shepherd a growing Youth Ministry (approximately 20 youth, ages 12–18) with additional responsibilities based on gifting and passion. Qualifications include a Bible college or Seminary degree (obtained or pursuing), and at least one year of Christian ministry experience.

• Lead and abide by Journey of Faith’s mission statement
• Oversee and shepherd our Youth Ministry of approximately 20 youth.
  • Develop an effective discipleship program for the youth
  • Identify and develop adult leaders
  • Oversee both a youth worship service and Friday night program
  • Recruit and train up adult and youth leaders
  • Plan, facilitate, and lead major youth activities (mission trips, camps, retreats, etc.)
  • Communicate on a regular basis with Youth Parents
  • Visit families to build trust and relationships with youth parents
• Work alongside the Senior Pastor to develop disciples and leaders
• Be a bridge to the Gen Z/Millennial/Alpha generations
• Visit and establish consistent relationships with adult members through life groups
• Perform other pastoral duties such as baptisms, communion, etc.
• Attend and participate in bi‑monthly pastoral staff meetings, monthly ministry team meetings, and monthly prayer meetings
• Communicate and work with church leadership in a timely manner
• Preach Biblically sound sermons for the worship service up to once a month (adults and youth)
• Fill the pulpit for the Senior Pastor when he is absent
• Lead special interest Bible Studies
• Help plan, facilitate, and lead major activities (mission trips, camps, retreats, etc.)

This position has the potential to eventually elevate to the role of Senior Pastor. Salary and benefits are negotiable.

• A submissive/teachable spirit.
• Graduate or future graduate with a master’s degree from an accredited Seminary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (preaching and teaching), adhering to exposition from the Scriptures
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Demonstrates sensitivity and an ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Full agreement with Journey of Faith’s doctrinal statement
