Employment Type:

Full-time

Minimum Entry Salary: $58,000.00. Additional $5,400 in stipends + $2,500 CTE stipend available depending on meeting district requirements (prorated based on FTE and start date)

Calendar:
Certified Exempt, new to district 203 workdays, returning 201 workdays

Benefits: PTO, holidays, matched retirement through the Arizona State Retirement System, health, and life insurance, wellness, professional growth credit

Performance Pay:
Available annually

New Hire Experience Credit: $400 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience, max $2800, National Board Certification $3,000 annually

New Hire Education Credit: $80/hour of graduate level credits: BA +96 hours max, MA +96 hours max, $1250 for first advanced degree, $500 for each additional advanced degree

Job Goal:

The primary goal is to equip students with the practical skills necessary to learn how to design software and applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate – Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Career and Technical Education Business and Marketing, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Business and Marketing certificate
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Broad knowledge of computer science, hardware, and software applications
  • Information Technology Specialist – Java preferred
  • Experience with Career and Technical Education is desired
  • Knowledge of instructional practices that support student-centered learning
Core

Job Functions:
  • Demonstrate expertise in the field of Software & App Design (Computer Science)
  • Oversee a Career and Technical Student Organization (FBLA or SkillsUSA)
  • Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders
  • Participate in recruitment needs for the program
  • Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students within the district curriculum
  • Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives
  • Creates a weekly written lesson plan describing daily learning experiences – this weekly lesson plan is to be correlated with the aims and/or objectives in the curriculum guide and/or course outline
  • Monitors and assesses student progress to provide feedback regularly to students and their parents
  • Diagnoses, instructs, and evaluates specific student needs and seeks assistance of district specialists as required
  • Communicates aims and/or objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior
  • Develops and implements reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner
  • Creates educational experiences that provide each student the opportunity to develop his/her potential in the areas of personal-social adjustment, decision-making, positive self-image, and other life skills
  • Promotes and follows the adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations, and administrative procedures
  • Communicates concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and the community in a positive, professional, and ethical manner
  • Assumes legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Assumes individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision, or other planning and professional assignments
  • Maintains accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
  • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
