The WorkWe are seeking experienced fighter pilots to serve as Contract Instructor Pilots supporting the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area at Luke Air Force Base.
The role involves providing F‑35 training to pilots through academic and simulator‑based instruction, ensuring adherence to the approved training syllabus. The instructor will collaborate closely with the Lockheed Martin training team to achieve F‑35 training objectives, implement and support company initiatives, programs, and policies as directed, and maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Key duties include:
- Instructing pilots in flight procedures and techniques in ground school courses and flight training.
- Preparing lesson plans and acting as a subject matter expert.
- Assisting in the preparation of schedules and maintenance of training records.
- Ensuring course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student.
- Evaluating and monitoring student performance.
- Active Secret clearance with a completed investigation within the last five years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to attain and maintain SAP access.
- Minimum 1,000 flight hours in tactical fighter aircraft as a pilot.
- Experience as a multi‑ship flight lead in tactical fighter aircraft.
- Experience with simulator devices and understanding of fighter tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, oral and written communication skills; organized and customer‑focused.
- Willingness to participate in deployed operations and support flexible work hours aligned with customer operational schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with fourth and/or fifth generation tactical fighter aircraft; F‑35 flight experience highly desired.
- Military Instructor Pilot (IP) experience.
- Past experience with F‑35 pilot training curriculum and program requirements.
- Knowledge of F‑35 systems, Full Mission Simulator, ALIS program, and advanced systems such as NVS, targeting pods, datalinks, and helmet‑mounted cueing.
- Graduation from Formal Military Academic Instructor Course (AIC) and/or formal training units.
- Fighter Weapons Instructor Course (FWIC) or Top Gun:
Weapons Tactics Instructor (WTI) graduate. - NATOPS Evaluator or Standardization/Evaluation Flight Examiner (SEFE) experience.
- Experience with training management systems (TMS), learning management systems (LMS), and electronic grade books.
