Assistant Principal of Academics

Location: Remote (Must reside in AZ)

The Team You Will Join

You’ll be part of the administration team, working closely with students and their families, graduation, and Academic Special Services. This team is responsible for administering all high school teachers with the students and their families.

The Difference You Will Make

In this role, your work will directly impact students, families, teachers, school operations, compliance, and outcomes by either maintaining or increasing Primavera’s B school letter grade. You’ll help build a more sustainable leadership model for a large, fast-growing virtual school by taking ownership of MTSS, instructional coaching, and family support — freeing the Principal to focus on strategic school improvement and growth.

You’ll help support learners, improve processes, ensure compliance, enhance student experience, and drive academic success, contributing to Primavera’s mission in a meaningful and visible way.

A Typical Day Looks Like
  • Serve as the administrative lead for MTSS and student intervention processes
  • Conduct classroom observations, walkthroughs, and instructional coaching
  • Facilitate and support Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings
  • Provide dedicated support and partnership for K‑8 families in a virtual setting
  • Evaluate teachers
  • Facilitate restorative and corrective discipline processes while maintaining strong family engagement
  • Support compliance, assessment administration, and attendance processes
  • Plan for the next school year
  • Collaboration and meetings
  • This position requires availability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday.
  • Must be available to work in person for approximately six weeks each year to support Arizona state testing, including travel to assigned testing locations.

This role balances independent work, collaboration, structure, problem‑solving, and execution and is well‑suited for someone who enjoys supporting students, managing details, improving systems, communicating clearly, and working with purpose.

We’re looking for someone who brings:
  • Valid Standard Professional Arizona Teaching Certificate with endorsement(s) appropriate to the elective area(s) assigned (Preferred)
  • Valid Arizona Principal Certification, OR active enrollment in an approved administrative certification program with completion required by the end of the current school year in which hired
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues
Bonus points if you also have:
  • Experience using adaptive technology tools, learning management systems, or student information platforms in an instructional setting
  • Background in differentiated instruction, project-based or creative learning, or supporting diverse learners including English Language Learners and students with IEPs
