Base Salary:

Minimum entry: $58,000.00 prorated based on FTE and start date

Potential compensation in addition to base salary: up to $5,400 in stipends prorated based on FTE and start date

Calendar:

Certified, teachers new to district 203workdays, returning teachers 201 workdays

The Classroom Teacher guides students toward achieving their full potential by transforming district curriculum standards into engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through effective instruction and specialized assignments, the teacher promotes academic growth and personal development.   • Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
  • Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population, including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and students with special needs
  • Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards
  • Use available technology to enhance learning
  • Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs
  • Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices
  • Effectively implement Individual Education Plans
  • Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction
  • Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low-performing students
  • Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance

  • Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
