Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer — Level 4 to support the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) program, with focus in Radio Frequency Communication Systems. This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.
Responsibilities- Generate and document system level interceptor requirements and perform vehicle performance assessments.
- Participate in system level verification and data review activities.
- Create new system requirements and manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases, working with IPT leaders and team members.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive tasks to completion autonomously and mentor/train others.
- Create and manage original and revised specification/interface definition documents and coordinate approval through peer review and signature processes.
- Support risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes.
- Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution, or mission operations.
- Participate in the creation of and manage changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
- Be knowledgeable about agile principles and facilitate an agile development process.
- Interface with IPT engineering staff as required and facilitate development and execution of technical reviews for the program.
- Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years related experience, Masters Degree with 6 years of related experience or PhD with 4 years of experience.
- Experience with RF System Design Trade Studies and Evaluation.
- Can perform RF and Communication System Analyses to determine suitability.
- Develops RF System and Component Architectures in coordination with Electrical Engineering Team.
- Identifies and drives analyses to closure to support development of system requirements.
- Experience with requirements decomposition and allocation.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced development program.
- Ability to travel is required.
- Experience leading within an IPT organization as a lead or a SME.
Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
