Where You Will WorkThis role is based in Arizona, supporting underground operations and seismic risk management across the region. Work is conducted in a hybrid model with both in-office and on-site collaboration depending on business needs. Arizona is one of the world’s most important copper mining regions, offering excellent access to outdoor recreation, culture, and lifestyle balance.
What You Will Do- Act as the liaison between the Seismic Advisory Group, site teams, and leadership
- Review mine plans and seismic hazard milestones to identify risks and mitigation opportunities
- Guide communication of seismic hazards and integrate findings into management plans
- Facilitate back analysis of seismic events and ensure lessons learned are applied
- Monitor seismic systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements
- Review and update TARPs and exclusion protocols with subject matter experts
- Maintain and audit the seismic hazard management plan for continuous improvement
- Track and report on seismic initiatives and progress
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Mining, Geophysical Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years’ experience (including lead or supervisory exposure), OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of mining, rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and seismic hazard control
- Experience with numerical modeling and geotechnical software (e.g., Deswik, Power BI)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to align stakeholders
- Ability to travel internationally up to two weeks per quarter
Preferred:
- Underground caving and seismic risk management experience
- Project management capability
- Familiarity with mXrap
- Base salary range: $95,500–$134,000 (excluding bonus, benefits, and retirement contributions)
