Unlike a standard IT desk job, this position is deeply technical, focusing on the intersection of high‑power hardware, IoT connectivity, and fleet management software.
Role OverviewThe Tech Support Engineer serves as the primary technical link between Minit Charger’s advanced charging hardware (like the ALTUS II and MAGNUS lines) and the customers using them in demanding environments such as airports and logistics hubs. You will troubleshoot everything from physical power delivery issues to cloud connectivity within the Asset Pro 360 platform.
Key Responsibilities- Real‑Time Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues for EV chargers, backend management platforms, and networking equipment (Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, 4G/5G). - Field Support:
Act as the "mission control" for field technicians during onsite diagnostics, configuration, and the commissioning of new charging stations. - Incident Management:
Monitor station performance proactively to identify anomalies before they lead to downtime. - Technical Documentation:
Maintain detailed case records and contribute to the internal knowledge base and field support manuals. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work closely with the R&D and Engineering teams to escalate complex bugs and provide feedback on product improvements.
- 3–5+ years in technical support, field service, or systems troubleshooting. Experience in EV charging, IoT, or power electronics is highly preferred.
- Embedded systems, CAN protocol and peripherals such as analog/digital systems, sensors and display devices.
- Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of AC/DC power, high/low voltage systems, controls and the ability to read electrical schematics. - Strong grasp of networked hardware (TCP/IP, DHCP, firewalls, and cellular connectivity).
- Soft Skills:
A "customer‑first" mindset with the ability to remain calm while helping a client whose operations are stalled by a technical failure. - Education:
AAS or BS in Electronics Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of EVSE standards (e.g., OCPP, ISO 15118).
- Familiarity with Linux‑based systems and embedded firmware.
- Electrical certifications or previous experience with renewable energy/smart grid technology.
Travel:
Occasional travel (approximately 20%) to customer sites for commissioning, training and complex troubleshooting when required.
